Ward 6 Councillor · Whitchurch-Stouffville
About Sue
Experienced Leadership. Strong Voice. Community First.
Born and raised on the shores of Musselman's Lake, Sue Sherban's story is deeply tied to Whitchurch-Stouffville. She attended Ballantrae Public School, Stouffville District Secondary School, and Seneca College before choosing to build her life right here in town.
Whitchurch-Stouffville is where Sue met and married her late husband, Peter, and where they raised their three daughters — Lindsay, Lisa, and Lesley. Today, one of her greatest joys is watching her daughters thrive and raise families of their own. As a proud grandmother of seven, Sue's grandchildren bring constant energy, warmth, and a fresh perspective to her life and public service.
Sue's career spans from local small-business owner for six years to her professional success as a Director at Cadillac Fairview for 18 years. That background — combined with decades of municipal governance — gives her a practical, customer-first approach to municipal representation.
A track record of delivering results
Sue's political career began as a grassroots advocate fighting for a local indoor pool — a goal achieved during her first term on Council. Over the years she has served as Ward 6 Councillor (1997–2003 and 2018–present) and as Mayor of Whitchurch-Stouffville (2003–2006), including as a Regional Council representative.
Preserving our heritage: Sue fought to save the historic old town hall, helping revitalize it into the vibrant cultural hub known today as 19 on the Park.
Community champion: A dedicated supporter and current Chair of the Stouffville Strawberry Festival, Sue has served on its committee for over 18 years, helping raise essential capital dollars to support this beloved community institution.
Civic engagement: Through town halls, active committee work, and accessible social-media updates, Sue keeps residents informed on the municipal issues that matter most.
Dedicated to Ward 6
Home to over 7,900 residents, Ward 6 is one of Whitchurch-Stouffville's largest and most diverse municipal wards. Delivering effective representation takes experience, active listening, and a commitment to working collaboratively across Council. Sue is known for speaking up boldly when her community needs a voice — keeping open doors, holding town halls, and using social media so every resident stays informed and heard.
